After purchasing a new big house, most of the people think of creating a big lawn around the house as lawns put in attractiveness to new house. It also helps in getting more value of your house, if your house is surrounded by beautiful lawn. No doubt, you need to maintain it very well so that buyers can be attracted towards it. Not all lawns are formed equally, depending the grass, lawns are of different types. One can place varieties of grass in their lawn or can decide the particular grass to grow. Thousands of varieties are present of lawn grass; every grass has its defined temperature, tolerance level of sunlight and shade and precipitation conditions. The breeders continuously create new and advance species of lawn grass. Grasses are basically divided into two categories i.e. warm season grass and cool season grass. Some grasses grow in cool or mild seasons; they are often called as cool season grasses. The growth starts at 5 C and at temperature if 10 to 15 C, it grows at faster rates. In cool and mild summers and in autumn and spring season, grasses grow at rapid rate. In extreme cold conditions, grasses preserve their better color and they intensely grow, it seems to be a green carpet lawn. Some examples of cool season grasses are bent grass, blue grass, rye grasses, fescues etc.

Temperature of above 10 C is needed for to start the growth of warm season grass, growth at rapid rate is noted at temperature of 25 to 35 C. some of the warm grasses are as follows- Bermuda grass, St. Augustine grass, bahia grass, centipede grass, zoysia grass, carpet grass, buffalo grass and grama grass. Warm season grasses can tolerate the lack of water and can even sustain in higher summer temperature. But thing to be noted is that most of the southern warm grasses cannot sustain in cool temperatures such as below -14C while Northern grasses such as blue grama and buffalo grass can stand up to -45C.

Let us go with warm season grass, starting with bahia grass- it is one of the types of lawn grass. Maintenance and mowing require of this grass is of medium level. It does not require much of time and efforts to maintain and mow it. Added advantage is in comparison to other grasses, the chances for bahia grass to get infected by diseases and insects are very low. Next grass is Bermuda grass, it also requires low maintenance and less mowing. You can easily grow them in your lawn with help of its seeds. At last, coming to carpet grass- usually this grass's color is medium or light green, it requires less maintenance and above all, it is very thick grown.
